Katharine Hope McPhee (born May 6, 1976) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She was in May 2006 second in the finals of the fifth season of American Idol. The 30th of January, 2007 her debut album, titled "My Name is", came out on RCA Records. It debuted at the 2nd spot on Billboard 200 and sold 381,000 copies. After her exit from Scorpion her role, she was cast in the role of Jenna Hunterson in Waitress on Broadway in 2018. She reprised her role as a songwriter to reprise her role on Broadway from 2019 until 2020. She has released four more following albums from her debut self-titled album over the last couple of years. Taylor Hicks was the fifth American Idol winner on May 24, 2006. Katharine McNee took home the American Idol title in the month of May. The 29-year old had previously defeated Chris Daughtry & Kellie Peckler.
